My dad always extolled the virtues of photographing signs. He was a writer and an historian so he loved text, context, documentation. I think this is what he was talking about. The worn out advertisement for Dim Sum operates as a perfect title for this photograph.

These three knitters are working and selling their wares out doors in an otherwise unused corner of a busy Chinatown street. They're taking a break for their lunch. It was late in the afternoon so, while I'm not entirely sure, they could have been taking dim sum.

Posture, gesture, the context of surrounding detail, and a sign. Works for me.
