What we did on our summer vacation!

Went for a float down the Slocan River on paddleboards.

You can kneel, sit or stand on paddleboards. Jeff and Lyle stand.

This section of the river is calm, about 4 to 6 feet deep.

Six of us floated. Mike and Carol float ahead of Jeff.

We rented an inflatable paddleboard from a local outfitter.

Jeff & Zabrina chat. Mike & Zab live on the river just south of here.

Carol, Zab and Jeff.

f-b: Lyle, Jeff, Mike, Carol, Zab. The 8km float took 3 hours.

It was hot, but not too hot. 33°C. So beautiful, right in our backyard!

Then we went for a hike to the Glade waterfall.

During spring, these rocks are...

under whitewater.

At this time of year, the creek and falls are at their lowest flow.

Sharon navigates stepping stones at bottom left.

The falls are located at the end of the road we live on.

Our community gets its water...

from just above the falls.

Instead of camping, friends stayed a few nights in our backyard.
