The dim, flat lighting in this foyer flattens the two women sitting on the bench into the painting behind them. The colours they're wearing match the painting's palette. The woman on the right gestures in a stylized way that echoes the gestures of the figures above her.

The contrast/blend of now and then, living and painted engages me despite the poor image quality of this photograph.
