I took this photo while walking briskly, without breaking my stride. That's my girlfriend at left with whom I'm walking down 5th Avenue in Manhattan while on holiday. The photo isn't perfectly framed. It's a bit fuzzy in places, and sadly these include two faces integral to the scene. But the photo is perfectly timed, and the important face in the scene is in focus.

This is where the photograph lives. The composition around the boy in the stroller is good. It's clear he's using his sister's stroller as a chair because the restaurant is crowded. The cluster of this family spilling out onto the sidewalk while they lunch is completely depicted. The boy's world at that moment, knees, elbows, hands, mouth, is fully depicted. His face is in profile which accentuates his effort to eat his pizza like a New Yorker. There's separation between his mouth and the pizza, and the background doesn't confuse the delicious gap between mouth and folded slice.

Perhaps the imperfections around the edges of the photo help. Our eye snaps to the boy's hand and mouth instantly.
